Northside Budokai is a not-for-profit associate club of Bayside Budokai dojo (Wynnum), established to promote the art and discipline of jodo, iaido, and aikido. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.

David Kolb sensei is a very experienced and highly qualified practitioner of jodo and iaido (as well as aikido) and is highly regarded amongst his peers and students. He also runs weekly classes in Wynnum at his Bayside Budokai dojo.
Aikido practice on Tuesdays is ran by the local Northside Budokai crew led by myself (Lynford), Tom and Adam.

Yes. However, you are most welcome to first observe a training session to see if you like it.
To get started, any comfortable sportswear will do. We have spare training sticks and wooden swords available to use until you have purchased your own. Your instructor will advise when it is appropriate for you to get the training weapons and uniforms.
Yes. 27 mins by (Chermside) Bus 320 from the city to Wavell Heights (Shaw Rd near Vale St) stop 39, then 5 mins walk to church hall (350m). 15 mins by train from Central to Nundah station, then 18 mins walk to church hall (1.3km).
